00:14 - When it comes to being prepared for severe weather,
00:19 every tool you need is right here in the palm of your hand
00:22 with the AccuWeather app.
00:24 With the app, you can get watches and warnings
00:26 to the palm of your hand anytime active weather is around.
00:29 But here's the thing, you have to make sure
00:31 your push notifications are turned on for your local area.
00:35 Let's show you how to do that in case you need a refresher.
00:38 We'll start with this.
00:39 Go to the three lines at the top left of the app.
00:43 Once you're there, go down to settings.
00:45 Once you're in settings, go to manage notifications.
00:48 Turn on your government alerts,
00:50 and from there you can select the notifications
00:53 that apply to your area.
00:54 For example, here at AccuWeather HQ,
00:57 we're in State College, Pennsylvania,
00:58 so we have our State College, Pennsylvania
01:00 notifications turned on.
01:01 But maybe we don't necessarily need them today
01:04 for Hays, Kansas.
01:05 You can go into edit locations and remove Hays.
01:08 Hopefully this helps you,
01:10 and we will always be here to help you through the storms.
