Cristian Poggioli & Davide Rabotti's Fatal Crash @ Rally Appennino Reggiano 2021 (Aftermath)

The 41st edition of the Rally Appennino Reggiano, a round of the 2021 International Rally Cup (IRC), was stopped after a double fatality which happened during the second special stage "Matilde di Canossa 1", between the village of San Polo d'Enza and Canossa, province of Reggio Emilia, Italy. Two spectators lost their lives when a competing car went out of control and left the road.

The accident happened on Saturday, 28 August 2021. While traveling on a fast straightaway in the small village of Riverzana, near Canossa, going towards Borsea and Castello di Canossa, the #42 Peugeot 208 R2 of Claudio Gubertini-Alberto Ialungo scraped a ditch on the roadside and went off the road, hitting a small group of spectators standing on an embankment. Two of them, Davide Rabotti, 21-year-old, from Reggio Emilia, and Cristian Poggioli, 35, of Lama Mocogno in province of Modena, were killed.
