Being queer and out takes courage, even in a place as accepting and diverse as Taiwan. But what can be more uplifting than a community that embraces you for who you are? That is the spirit of ballroom, a culture born from struggle and exclusion experienced by Black and Latinx LGBTQ individuals that grew into a global phenomenon of queer empowerment.
