The Message and the January 6 Committee Investigation

A Florida watchdog agency has released information regarding a "Message" cult lobbyist who recently died. Roy Douglas "Doug" Wead, son of "Message" cult member and supporter, and Assemblies of God Indiana District Superintendent Roy H. Wead, died on December 10, 2022 of a stroke and heart failure. Their report links the "Message" cult to the January 6 Committee investigation.
Roy H. Wead was directly responsible for the survival of the "Message" cult during the time that Jim Jones and Joseph Mattsson-Boze helped maintain William Branham's crumbling empire. (read more here). Wead fought to defend Branham, the "Message", and Latter Rain as the Assemblies of God started sanctioning several leaders of the movement. Wead (and his son) were members of the "Message" during the time in which several other leaders in the movement referred to Latter Rain as "The Latter Rain Message."
Doug Wead was under federal indictment for conspiring to illegally funnel Russian money to the 2016 presidential campaign for Donald J. Trump.
According to the article, Wead and co-defendant Jesse R. Benton of Louisville, Kentucky, pleaded not guilty in September 2022. Interestingly, Wead was the Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Arizona's 6th congressional district in 1992. Benton and Wead were both living in the two central locations of William Branham's "Message" cult. Wead and Benton would have faced up to twenty years of prison for each of the three counts against them — basically the rest of their lives in prison.
Also of interest is that the Feds have tried very hard to keep this information sealed. the 20-page grand jury indictment does not name Trump. Instead, it mentions Benton's $25,000 contribution in support of "political candidate 1" ... Trump.
