A professional hen do planner reveals her dos and don’ts for the perfect party - including ditching “plastic junk” and “sashes” and using a spreadsheet to keep track of plans. Lesley Henderson, 40, spends her days planning and putting together the perfect hen do for brides to be. She says “not to bother” with cheap plastic such as penis straws and sashes as “they’ll only end up in the bin” and warns to book activities at least two months in advance to avoid missing out. Lesley, who helps oversee a hair salon part time, from Edinburgh, Scotland, said: “Some people want all the willy straws at their hen do but others prefer it classy. “Don’t waste your money on that plastic junk as it will never get used again. “I’d recommend using a spreadsheet to plan everything and keep a track of deposits. “The main thing is not to follow a certain set of rules and do what you want.” Lesley started her own hen do events business in June 2019, after having worked in corporate events her whole life. “I’d wanted to create my own company for ages but knew it needed its own stamp on it,” she said. “I wanted to offer different hen do parties rather than the traditional pub crawl.” She offers garden parties, roller disco parties, paint and prosecco and disco brunches to brides to be.
