Video footage has shown the aftermath of Russia's missile strikes on central Kyiv in retaliation for the destruction of the Russia-Crimea bridge. The clip from Taras Shevchenko Boulevard on October 10 shows numerous vehicles in flames billowing smoke into the air. 28-year-old Ukraine Armed Forces coordinator Serhii Surepin filmed the aftermath and captioned the video: "There are dead among the civilian population." Local reports said the strike hit the major intersection during the height of rush hour after months of relative peace in the country's capital. President Zelensky tweeted: "The world once again saw the true face of a terrorist state that is killing our people. "On the battlefield & in peaceful cities. "A country that covers its true bloody essence & goal with talks about peace. "It proves that the liberation of [Ukraine] is the only basis of peace & security."
