The Serfs — The Early Bird Cafe 1969 (USA, Jazz Rock/Funk/Soul)
The musicians united in a group in 1965 in Kansas. The only album was released on Capitol Records. In addition to its own material, the album includes very peculiar cover versions of "Like A Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan, "I'm A Man" by Spencer Davis Group, "All Blues" by Miles Davis. The album was recorded in 1968 at the same time in the same studio with Jimi Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland", while Mike Finnigan, the band's keyboardist, managed to participate in the recording of Jimi's album. Mike Finnigan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
