Malcolm Turnbull is denying he is encouraging voters in traditional Liberal strongholds to consider backing so-called 'teal independents'. The former Prime Minister is expected to make a speech on Australian democracy in Washington DC this morning, where he argues his party could be about to get a wake-up call.
