Incessant rains trigger floods and landslide in Uttarakhand

It has been raining heavily in Uttarakhand for the last two days. Disturbing pictures are being witnessed in many districts of the state. Roads have been blocked due to landslides, rivers are in spate and people are stranded on the way. There is a scene of inundation on the Mall Road of Nainital. The Ganges is in spate in the pilgrimage city of Rishikesh. Everywhere from Kotdwar to Haldwani, incessant rains have increased the difficulty. 3 Army helicopters are delivering relief material. Total of 16 people have lost their lives in the state due to the rains. Due to continuous rain in Nainital for the last 24 hours, the water level of Naini Lake has broken all the records of history. So far, about 500 mm of rain has been recorded here in 24 hours. Due to the rain, the water level of Naini Lake crossed Tallital and reached the roadways bus stand.
