In the Philippines where tropical storm Kompasu has barreled over the northern part of the country setting off landslides and flash flooding. Officials say at least nine people have died and at least 11 are still missing. More than 16 hundred villagers had evacuated homes in several towns and cities as the storm unleashed pounding rains and wind that toppled trees and knocked down power.
