The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducts search and rescue operations in the waters off Caba, La Union where an aircraft with tail number, RP - C8230, was reported to have crashed at about 11:30 a.m. on May 26, 2021. According to the Philippine National Police (PNP), the body of a 25-year-old student pilot was recovered and brought to the Caba Municipal Health Office. The victim, a resident of Paligui, Apalit, Pampanga, is now at the Mapanao Funeral Service in Aringay, La Union. Commander Alois Morales of the PCG Station La Union led the team that retrieved the debris of the aircraft which sunk at approximately 300 meters away from the shoreline. Investigation is ongoing.
