Celebrating the Christmas season with friends might be tough this year, but it's the perfect opportunity to stay home in the warm, relax and binge-watch a TV show or two.
Our arts and culture correspondent Kim Bo-kyoung has brought us a list of dramas and movies to enjoy during this holiday season.
"It could be lonely this Christmas without any chances to meet friends,... but it could also be a chance to binge-watch TV while staying in the warm. For those looking for something to watch,... Netflix came up with a list of the most viewed content by South Koreans."
This Korean historical zombie thriller 'Kingdom' starts with a mysterious plague in the Joseon Dynasty. The crown prince fights to survive while trying to find out what is behind the deadly disease. Sword fights with zombies in traditional Korean outfits make this thriller stand out from the horde.
Another zombie horror movie, Alive focuses on two survivors isolated in an apartment complex where most of the residents are infected by a virus. The movie depicts the loneliness of survivors of a zombie apocalypse.
The 10-episode drama Extracurricular delves deep into taboo topics including a high school student running an illegal business. Despite the high level of violence, it gained lots of attention as it is relatable to students around the world.
The fourth Netflix documentary in its series about female artists presents BLACKPINK's past 10 years before they became global stars. The 80-minute film shows the group in more candid moments than fans usually get to see.
For those looking for romance,... check out the TV series 'It's okay to not be okay'. The story follows a romance between a famous children's book author with an antisocial personality disorder and the caretaker of a psychiatric ward.
Bizarre but fresh. The School Nurse Files stars Jung Yu-mi, who tries to save a school from the harmful jelly ghosts. The combination of eccentric exorcism, fantasy and school life will make you wish it had more than just six episodes.
Though not on the list, critically acclaimed drama 'Sweet Home' depicts a survival story amid the apocalypse.
Residents in the apartment complex suddenly turn into bloodthirsty creatures,... and some try to survive together, keeping their humanity.
