Bodyguard sentenced to death for murdering trio in 2016
A 41-year-old bodyguard who killed three people at a stretch of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway in 2016 was sentenced to death by the Penang High Court on Wednesday.
Ja'afar Halid has been found guilty of murdering his boss, businessman Datuk Ong Teik Kwon, professional clown Choi Hon Ming and flower supplier M. Senthil.
Ja'afar was also found guilty for the attempted murders of Dr K. Arivarni, factory worker Lee Hong Boon, RTM videographer Mohamed Amirul Amir Mohamed Amir and banker Poh Bee Joo.
