China's Sinopharm says it will be able to develop over 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses by 2021

Chinese pharmaceutical company, Sinopharm Group, one of several firms developing COVID-19 vaccines in the country, says it will be able to produce over a billion doses by next year.
Citing the CEO, the Beijing Daily reported Monday that on top of its plants in Beijing and Wuhan, it will open a new factory by year-end, which will significantly boost its production capacity.
It added that Phase three trials for the vaccine are currently underway in some 10 countries with nearly 60-thousand participants.
However, Peru has suspended trials for the vaccine due to a "serious adverse event" in one of the volunteers.
