The global picture of Covid-19, however, looks gloomy as of this Monday especially if we zoom in on the mortality numbres.
More than 1-point-6 million people across the world have died from COVID-19... with the U.S. recording the highest number of coronavirus fatalities.
With Europe also seeing a rapid spike, Germany will go into a "hard" national lockdown, starting Wednesday and continuing through the Christmas period

The worldwide COVID-19 death toll has surpassed 1-point-6 million.
According to Worldometer, the U.S. recorded the highest number of deaths with 306-thousand... followed by Brazil with 181-thousand, and India with 143-thousand.
As for the number of confirmed cases, there is a total of 72-million worldwide.
The U.S. has recorded the most cases with 16-point-7 million, followed by India and Brazil.
With the country's medical system overloaded, front-line healthcare workers in the U.S. are saying that they are exhausted.
"I think that we're exhausted. We feel alone, alienated and hearing people not being supportive or compassionate - in fact, saying that we're in on some kind of conspiracy - is incredibly painful."
In Europe, Germany has imposed a stricter lockdown as cases surge within the country.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced Sunday local time, that all shops except for those which sell groceries and other essential items will be closed starting Wednesday... along with schools and day care centers.
"Action is needed because the measures that we implemented on November 2nd were not sufficient. We were able to stop the exponential growth in infections for a while and achieve stabilization, but for some days now we have been seeing increasing case numbers and exponential growth again."
The new restrictions will take effect in Germany until at least January 10th to prevent any further spread of the virus.
