미 대선 전망과 한국 외교, 경제에 미치는 영향

Regardless of which candidate wins the U.S. Presidential elections, the results are expected to have a significant impact on South Korea, a key Asian ally.
For more on the effect of the U.S. elections on South Korea's diplomacy and economy, we are joined here in the studio with Joseph Schouweiler, Professor of International Studies at Hanyang University.
Professor thank you for coming in.
Let's start with the current situation in the United States. We are still in the process of counting the final votes, but it's expected to take a while for concrete results to come out.
As a political expert, how do you view the latest developments in the U.S. Presidential election? How do you expect the results to turn out?
Professor, how do you think the results of the elections will affect Washington's alliance with Seoul?
Now we are well aware that the United States plays a key role in the peace process on the Korean peninsula. How will the election results affect inter-Korean ties?
Now let's turn to the impact on South Korea's economy. Tensions between Washington and Beijing have been heightened lately especially with the U.S. tightening restrictions on Chinese tech giant Huawei.
How will the election of America's new leader affect Korea's economy?
With President Trump expected to push through with his America First policies, and Democratic candidate Biden vowing to introduce the 'Made in America' policies if elected, how would these policies impact South Korea, especially on the trade front?
This is where we wrap up our discussion today.
We were joined by Professor Joseph Schouweiler, of Hanyang University in Korea.
Thank you for your insights today professor.
