The Center has finally decided to borrow on its own to end the tensions over the last four months on the outstanding GST compensation of the states. The government has decided that it will borrow 1.1 lakh crore rupees to compensate states for the decline in GST revenue. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, writing a letter to the states, has given the reason for this.

राज्यों के बकाए जीएसटी मुआवजे पर पिछले चार महीनों से चल रही तनातनी को खत्म करने के लिए केंद्र ने आखिरकार खुद उधार लेने का फैसला किया है. सरकार ने फैसला किया है कि वो राज्यों को GST के राजस्व (Revenue) में आई गिरावट की भरपाई के लिए 1.1 लाख करोड़ रुपये उधार लेगी. वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने राज्यों को एक चिट्ठी लिखते हुए इसका कारण बताया है.
