S. Korea reports 77 new COVID-19 cases as numbers return to double digits on Chuseok

South Korea reported 77 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, returning to a two figure increase after a triple digit spike at the start of Chuseok.
Of the 67 locally transmitted cases, 50 originate from the Seoul metropolitan area.
Authorities are still on high alert as many people are expected to travel during the long holiday, which ends Sunday.
With two more fatalities, the death toll has risen to four-hundred-15.
Testing sites and more than 500 emergency medical facilities will be kept open around the clock throughout the holiday.
