Japan to release Fukushima wastewater into sea due to lack of time

日 정부 "후쿠시마 오염수 처리 결정, 남은 시간 얼마 없다"

Despite concerns over releasing contaminated wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the sea, Tokyo is likely to press ahead with plans, claiming time constraint as a major factor.
The Japanese government said there's not much time left to decide how to process the radioactive water emphasizing the sites for storing the wastewater would be full by August 2022.
Considering the two-year preparation period, they said it's now time to decide.
Controversies, however, have continued to grow after higher levels of other radioactive substances were found in the waste.
More conflicts are forecast as Japan has not consulted with neigboring countries including South Korea.
