Japanese government briefs embassies on treatment of radioactive wastewater from Fukushima nuclear plant

The Japanese government held a briefing session for foreign embassy officials on radioactive wastewater building up at the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.
A total of 27 diplomatic officials from 22 countries including South Korea were present at Wednesday's session,... during which Tokyo explained that it has not yet decided on how to dispose the wastewater.
The Japanese government also explained that the wastewater generated in damaged reactor buildings is cleared of most radioactive materials.
Tokyo has last held such a briefing in last October.
