Shifting its trajectory, Typhoon Haishen may head south past the East Sea.
Weather forecasts show the 10th typhoon of the season will pass near Busan's southern port city on Monday morning.
But as the typhoon itself is so powerful, the entire nation will be under its influence when it nears the peninsula.
As Typhoon Haishen is expected to leave more damage than Typhoon Maysak did, South Korea's Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters have been running on a level one emergency system as of Saturday.
