BTS, K팝 새역사 쓰다…한국 가수 최초 빌보드 싱글 1위

We are going to start this morning with some entertainment news.
It's another record for K-Pop superstars BTS.
The seven-member band has become the first South Korean act to hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their new single.

BTS is continuing to make K-pop history,... becoming the first South Korean artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Billboard revealed Monday that the boy band landed in the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart with their new song 'Dynamite,'... the group's first song performed fully in English.
Previously,... the highest-ranking artist from South Korea was PSY with his 2012 viral hit 'Gangnam Style,'... which peaked at number 2... where it remained for seven weeks in a row.
BTS previously managed a high of number four on the Hot 100 chart with 'ON,' their lead track from an album released in February.
'Dynamite' was a global hit upon its release.
It attracted over three million concurrent viewers during its premiere on YouTube,... garnering over 101 million views in just the first 24 hours,... making it the biggest music video debut on the platform to date.
Moreover, BTS became the first K-pop act to debut at number one on Spotify's Global Top 50 index.
All these achievements come on the heels of BTS picking up four awards at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards.
They won the awards for best pop, best group, best K-pop and best choreography with their song 'ON.'
