Over in New Zealand, a white supremacist who killed 51 Muslims has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
It's the first time the maximum possible penalty has been imposed in the country.
Twenty-nine-year-old Australian Brenton Tarrant admitted to 51 charges of murder, 40 of attempted murder, and one charge of committing a terrorist act during the 2019 shooting rampage at two mosques.
The Court Justice said Tarrant has shown no remorse, and that no matter how long he spent in prison, it would not be enough to compensate for his crimes.
Many victims and family members who spoke at the hearing welcomed the verdict, saying justice is served.
