Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had a medical check-up Monday that lasted for more than seven hours,... amid a frenzy of speculation about his health.
Abe was seen at Keio University Hospital in Tokyo ,... just two months after his last check-up.
There are widespread concerns in Japan about his health after a weekly magazine, Flash, reported that Abe vomited blood at his office in early July.
Other local media outlets have also speculated about Abe's health, including detailed reports on the speed of his walking as well as how he was able to walk down a slope.
A source at the prime minister's office dismissed the reports,... explaining that the check-up was scheduled as Abe has been experiencing increased fatigue and has been busy dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Opposition parties are keeping a close eye on the health of the 65-year-old premier,... as he has kept a low profile since the regular Diet session ended in June,... appearing only at several press conferences held on ceremonial occasions.

The accumulated number of COVID-19 patients stood at 57-thousand-566,... with 1-thousand 132 fatalities.
