Former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe worships at Yasukuni shrine for first time in almost seven years

Less than a week after his resignation, former Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe was spotted worshipping at the controversial Yasukuni shrine... for the first time in almost seven years.
He tweeted on Saturday that "he visited Yasukuni Shrine and reported his resignation to the spirits."
Yasukuni shrine's controversy lies in the fact that...it honors the Japan's war dead including 14 Class-A war criminals.
Abe refrained from worshipping at the shrine, after receiving strong criticism from the international community following his last visit in 2013.
Expressing deep regret, the South Korean government urged Tokyo to sincerely reflect on history and act upon their reflections of earn the trust of neighboring countries.
