A lion cub that was on the verge of death after horrific abuse, has been nursed back to health... at an animal sanctuary in Russia.
The "Save Me" animal shelter in southern Russia said Simba had two fractured bones when he was first rescued in March.
They had been deliberately broken by his previous owner, who was a souvenir photographer... to prevent him running away while being forced to take pictures with tourists.
Simba underwent groundbreaking surgeries... and despite suffering deformity, he made a miraculous recovery.
The cub is set to be flown to Africa in September, to begin a new life... in a more suitable environment.
