S. Korea's trade minister vows to make WTO more 'relevant, resilient and responsive'

South Korea's trade minister Yoo Myung-hee, who is running for the top job at the World Trade Organization, says... her goal is to make the WTO a more relevant, resilient and responsive world body, if approved as Director-General.
At a WTO General Council meeting in Geneva, Switzerland on Sunday, Yoo stressed that she'll reform and restore the organization's core functions in handling disputes.
This is Yoo displaying confidence that she has the credentials to be appointed, take a listen:

"With eight contenders, I think it will be a fierce competition. I'm going to highlight that I'm the most suitable candidate to lead the WTO reform, with my experience and expertise on trade and international networks."

The eight candidates will present their views then have until September 7th for an election campaign. The WTO will then start its selection process.
