How 'The Phantom of the Opera' survived in Seoul

Major theaters from New York's Broadway to London's West End are closed,... but 'The Phantom of the Opera' World Tour is still going on in Seoul.
The associate director of the show says it can keep going on thanks to the strict guidelines the South Korean government has provided and both the production team and the audience following them to the letter.

Major theaters around the globe are closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak,… but the renowned show "The Phantom of the Opera" is still being performed to a large audience in Seoul.
Possibly the only large-scale English-language show currently running anywhere in the world,… the performances have grabbed the attention of foreign media outlets, the British government and even the legendary composer of the show.
"The associate director says South Korea's rigorous virus prevention efforts enabled the show to go on. Let's have a look at some of the specific measures that the production team has put into practice."
Before people enter the building, they get sanitized by the automatic sanitizer.
Next, they get their temperatures checked.
They need to keep their distance when lining up for their tickets, and then need to fill out health questionnaires.
The production team also have to take special measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Around 275 costumes used during the show are all sprayed with alcohol.
Masks and the insides of hats are sterilized too,... along with roughly 175 wigs.
Other props are disinfected before the show with wipes and alcoholic sprays.
And performers strictly follow safety measures such as wearing masks and using hand sanitizer.
The show runs in Seoul until early August,... and the next tour will be in Daegu starting from August 19.
The associate director says the performances in Daegu once the hotspot of South Korea's COVID-19 outbreak mean a lot.
"I think it would be really great for Daegu, it will help relaunch Daegu in a way and bring it to everybody's attention that Daegu is open for business and Daegu is safe and Daegu has recovered really well from the crisis."
Putting safety as top priority,... the team say they are glad to be able to do the show that the audience have waited a long time for.
