The Japanese music chart announced Friday that BTS' latest album 'Map of the Soul: 7' topped its sales rankings for the first half of 2020.
BTS sold almost 430-thousand copies of the album in Japan alone.
This marks the first time in 36 years for a non-Japanese artist to claim number one in the chart for the first half of the year.
The last artist to achieve the feat was Michael Jackson, who topped the chart in 1984 with his iconic album 'Thriller'.”
