As countries in Europe struggle to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, some are adopting mobile apps for contact tracing.
South Korea, meanwhile, having seen great success with those, are getting ready for an upgrade.

Media in Europe are highlighting South Korea's 'track and trace' system.
The BBC, for one, has reported on how the country has been tracking down those who've come in contact with infected people... and its use of a tracing app for smartphones.
There's been some criticism in Europe because of privacy concerns, but a number of countries are introducing similar systems.
The NHS in the UK is developing its own contact-tracing app,... and so is France with an app called 'StopCovid.'
The English Premier League is getting ready to resume, so it's using GPS tracking and video analysis to ensure that clubs stick to the safety guidelines.
An institute in Switzerland has launched a tracing app that uses Apple and Google protocols.
"The challenges for the future are on the one hand, public acceptance, so that people understand that this is an app which protects, as much possible, what technology offers today, the data."
South Korea's transport ministry is injecting around 7 million U.S. dollars to upgrade its tracing system.
That system, unveiled in March, has helped a great deal in stopping the spread of the virus, taking only about 10 minutes to track down where infected people have been.
The ministry plans to use money from the government's new extra budget to automate the system.
