President Moon vows strengthened support for elderly on Parent's Day

President Moon Jae-in says the South Korean people have learned the wisdom to overcome crises from the country's elderly population.
Taking to social media Friday to mark Parent's Day,... President Moon said South Korea's senior citizens are the people that carved out the country we know today pointing to their struggles during colonization, war, poverty and dictatorship.
He vowed to step up the state's responsibility for dementia patients.... and provide for the health and welfare of elderly people.
The president also attributed South Korea's enhanced national status based on its effective COVID-19 quarantine measures to the country's older generations expressing his thanks and respect.
