Students in South Korea return to face-to-face classes next Wednesday in a staggered fashion.
With high school seniors set to be the first ones back in school, President Moon Jae-in visited a local high school today to make sure the classrooms were quarantine-ready to bring back the students.
Schools are now the front line of quarantine. We need thorough management for regulations such as wearing masks, distancing, washing hands, as well as the ventilation and disinfection of classrooms. Still, we ask that you minimize the inconvenience for students.
The president said the government will set aside funds worth over 70 million U.S. dollars to provide thermometers, hand sanitizers, face masks and thermal cameras for classrooms.
But, cooperation among parents, schools and the quarantine authorities will be key, he said.
Students are advised to stay home if they don't feel well and any school found to have a COVID-19 infected student will go back to online classes.
