01_Homemade Easy Vanilla Sponge Cake Recipe_Baking Recipe by Cooking with Asifa This Home-made Simple Yellow Vanilla Sponge Cake is the base of baking. It has a soft spongy & regular crumb that absorbs the moisture from the milk n cream a lot well. You can eat this delicious simple cake just as it is or roll it with cream served with tea making it a delightful for tea-time or you can pack it for kids for lunches.
Ingredients: - Oil 1 cup - Plain flour(Maida) 2 cup - Baking powder 1 Tbsp - Eggs 5 - Salt 1/2 pinch - Sugar 1 cups - Vanilla powder 1/2 Tsp - Milk 1/2 cup
Recipe:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) with the rack in the middle. Take a large rectangular cake pan (at least 2 inches tall), brush oil on the inside of the pan, then dust it with flour, knocking out the excess to make the surface non-stick. - In a medium bowl, sift the Maida (All-purpose Flour) and baking powder and set aside. - In another bowl beat the oil, vanilla powder and sugar on medium speed for 5 minutes. - Increase the speed to medium, and continue adding eggs to beat with it for 15 minutes or more till a smooth batter is formed. - Gradually add flour, salt, milk & batter with the spoon, so no lump is formed. - Pour the batter into cake pan & Bake the cake for about 20 minutes or few more, on the middle rack of preheated to the 350°F oven. - Check the cake with a toothpick/skewer inserted in the center should come out clean without crumbs on it, the cake is ready. - Allow the cake to sit undisturbed for 5 mins.
