It's a new way of coloring your hair combining two known techniques: Balayage and babylights. The balayage technique is selecting your natural highlights and emphasizing them to different degrees. The babylights technique is mixing a few colors close to your hair color. But the main focus is the strands left and right from the face which are colored lighter. "The placement of each serves a specific purpose. Unlike a foil where the highlights are concentrated evenly from roots to ends, twilighting marries the two techniques to produce a result that’s natural but bold", Karissa Schaudt, colorist at Maxine Salon.
