Eager devotees of the Black Nazarene flood Ayala bridge as early as 5 am to anticipate the arrival of the carriage of the iconic 400-year-old image of the dark skinned kneeling Jesus Christ. This year, Ayala Bridge replaced Jones Bridge as the new route of the procession. A devotee was also rescued by a medical team after she passed out in the middle of the procession.
