Tawa Chicken Fry is a popular chicken starter recipe which is hugely found at dhaba's and in most parties and weddings in North India. Shallow fried on an iron girdle, this chicken recipe is not just easy-to-make but hugely tempting and goes well with chapati and paratha.

Ingredients:
(Serves 4)
- 4 tbsp Oil
- 1 kg Chicken
- 1 tsp Ginger Paste
- 1 tsp Garlic Paste
- 2 Tomatoes(chopped)
- 1 tsp Cumin Seed Powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander Seed Powder
- 1/2 Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbs Red Chilli Powder
- Salt
- Water
- 3/4 Garam Masala Powder
- 1/2 Lemon Juice
- 1 Onion(chopped)
- 1 Green Chilli(chopped)
- Coriander Leaves(chopped)

Method:
1. Heat oil in a Tawa/griddle/frying pan
2. Once the oil is heated, fry the chicken over a high flame for around 5 minutes, until it turns brown
3. Now, add ginger paste, garlic paste and saute it till the raw smell of ginger-garlic paste is gone, which will take about a minute
4. Add roughly chopped tomatoes, and saute it till the tomatoes turn soft and mushy
5. Now, add cumin seed powder, coriander seed powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and saute it
6. Reduce the flame to medium, so the spices don't burn, and now, add salt
7. Now, add water; mix it and cover it with lid for around 15 minutes on a medium-low flame, till the chicken is cooked
8. Once the chicken is cooked, uncover it and add garam masala powder, lemon juice, chopped onion and mix it well
9. Add chopped green chilli, ginger julienne from the top; Cover it and cook it for more 5 minutes
9. If the chicken goes dry, you can add half cup of water to it
10. Mix it well; Add chopped coriander leaves from top and serve it.
