N. Korea-U.S. working level talks could take place within 2-3 weeks: NIS chief
  • 5 years ago
South Korea's intelligence agency says that working-level talks on denuclearization between North Korea and the U.S. could resume in the next two or three weeks.
After a closed-door meeting in parliament on Tuesday,... rival lawmakers quoted National Intelligence Service Chief Suh Hoon as saying that depending on the outcome of those talks,... a summit could also be held within this year.
The intel chief also said that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un might make a fifth visit to Beijing... given that he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping before both of his summits with President Trump.
As for Kim Jong-un possibly coming to South Korea,... Suh didn't rule out the possibility of him participating in the Korea-ASEAN special summit scheduled for November in the southern port city of Busan... should the denuclearization negotiations go well.
