Japan changes diplomats in charge of affairs with Korea amid deteriorating bilateral ties with Seoul

Japan's foreign ministry has replaced its top diplomat for Asian affairs at a time when bilateral ties between Seoul and Tokyo are at their worst in recent years.
Shigeki Takizaki will oversee diplomatic issues with South and North Korea starting next Monday.
He is currently in charge of the ministry's Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department and also of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
He'll replace Kenji Kanasugi , who will serve as senior deputy foreign minister for economic affairs.
