Top diplomats of China and Japan hold talks on handling North Korea issue, improving bilateral ties

For the first time in eight years,... China's top diplomat is in Japan,... in what is being seen as a major step forward in improving the frosty relations between the two sides.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, meeting with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono on Sunday, said his visit was Beijing's response to Tokyo's positive messages and policies.
Kono also said Wang's visit was a major step forward in their bilateral relations.
The diplomats discussed the North Korea issue, their economic relations and territorial disputes in the East China Sea.
They also touched base on the upcoming three-way summit with South Korea, set to take place next month.
