South Korea to extend length of stay for seasonal foreign workers to 5 months

South Korea will extend the visa period for foreign workers employed in seasonal agricultural work... from the current three months to five months.
The justice ministry announced a plan on Monday to revise the immigration law... and create a new type of visa for seasonal workers.
The new law will be implemented pending an approval at Cabinet meeting in November.
The government introduced measures to attract seasonal workers from abroad in 2015,... in response to labor shortages at farming and fishing villages due to the aging population.
Some 2-thousand 8-hundred seasonal workers entered Korea in 2018.
