The Office of the President suspended classes in all levels in Metro Manila and 12 other areas on Monday due to heavy rains and floods. The areas affected by the suspension are: Metro Manila Pangasinan Benguet Bataan Zambales Tarlac Pampanga Bulacan Rizal Laguna Cavite Batangas Occidental Mindoro. In a text message, Presidential spokeperson Edwin Lacierda said Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa also suspended work in government offices in Metro Manila except those involved in disaster risk reduction and management. Lacierda said the suspension was upon the recommendation of PAGASA. Senate sessions have also been suspended for the day. ANC Headstart, August 19, 2013
