10 people die, about 1,700 suffer illnesses from heatwaves this year

The Korean health authorities say ten people have died so far from this year's heatwaves.
Also, Korea's CDC says from late May to mid August, almost 17-hundred people were hospitalized with heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Gyeonggi-do Province topped the number of patients at around three-hundred,... followed by provinces in the south of the country.
Around 80 percent of those illnesses occurred at outdoor workplaces or farms.
People are being advised to stay indoors and drink plenty of water during hot weather.
