10 people die, about 1,700 suffer illnesses from heatwaves this year

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says ten people died from this year's heatwaves.
The agency said from late May to mid-August, almost seventeen-hundred people were admitted to hospital with heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Gyeonggi-do Province topped the number of patients at around three-hundred,... followed by Gyeongsang-do provinces and Jeollanam-do Province.
Around eighty-percent of those illnesses occurred at outdoor workplaces or farms.
The health authorities recommend that people stay indoors and drink plenty of water during periods of hot weather.
