Good morning. Intense heat continues to sizzle much of the country, especially central western regions. Meanwhile a typhoon advisory has been issued for parts of the east and south sea. High seas watch are in place for the Jeju Strait.

Typhoon Francisco made landfall on the southeast coast of Japan's Kyushu island at 5AM. It's forecast to pass into the south of the Korean peninsula and turn to the northeast arriving in Busan at around 11PM. Moist air is expected to cause unstable weather conditions in large areas of Eastern Korea.

East coast regions are expected to receive the most rain. The further west you are the drier you'll be. Those of you having a summer vacation in eastern coastal areas will need to take special care.

Back to the heat, Seoul is waking up to its warmest morning temperatures of the season, while most regions also had steamy night.

Highs will be between 30 and 37 degrees Celsius this afternoon. Take care to avoid heat stroke if you have to spend a lot of time outside today.
