The U.S. State Department says there are no plans for a meeting in Europe this week between American and North Korean officials.
There had been speculation that a meeting could take place... as U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, will visit Brussels and Berlin this week... and his trip comes shortly after the leaders of the North and the U.S. agreed to resume denuclearization talks at their DMZ meeting.
But a State Department official told South Korea's Yonhap News Agency that... there are no plans to meet with the North Koreans.
Biegun is expected to visit NATO headquarters in Brussels on Tuesday.... and speak to officials about ways to resolve North Korea's nuclear issue.
He'll also meet his South Korean counterpart Lee Do-hoon and European officials to advance their shared efforts to achieve North Korea's final, fully verified denuclearization.
