From the 1962 film Ser al Ghayeb. The singer in this clip is Mohamed Taha with his group. This film stars Taheya Carioca as a widow who's husband has been murdered and Rushdie Abaza as her employee. Taheya Carioca does not dance in this film, her role is strictly an acting role. In this clip Rushdie Abaza's character has gotten a promotion at work so they are having a small celebration and they've hired this band to perform. Egyptian dancer/actress Nawal El Saghiera plays the part of Taheya Carioca's maid. She is sitting watching the singer, when one of the company employees tells her to get up and dance, to which she answers that she can't dance. So he tells her that he can make her dance by hypnotizing her, which he does and then she gets up on the stage and begins to dance in a hypnotized trance. At the end of the clip some rival thugs arrive to cause trouble.
Rushdie Abaza was Samia Gamal's second husband. They married in 1962. Before marrying Samia, he was briefly married to Taheya Carioca.
