South Korea's top nuclear envoy suggests Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming visit to North Korea could accelerate the resumption of talks between Pyeongyang and Washington.
Speaking with reporters upon arriving in Washington on Tuesday,... Lee Do-hoon, Seoul's special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, said President Xi's two-day visit from Thursday could contribute to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of peace.
He also explained that President Trump's scheduled visit to Seoul could also bring about a positive outcome.
According to government sources in South Korea,... U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen Biegun, is scheduled to arrive in Seoul on June 25th or 26th.
He will stay until President Trump wraps up his visit to South Korea following the G20 Summit in Osaka.
