Johor Menteri Besar Osman Sapian said factories in Pasir Gudang will be relocated to more suitable locations in the state.

According to Osman, when the factories in Pasir Gudang were built over 30 years ago , the area was undeveloped, however it's no longer suitable for factories.

In early March, the dumping of chemical waste into Sungai Kim Kim, resulted in over 4,000 residents seeking treatment for various symptoms, including nausea, dizziness and vomiting, due to exposure.

The incident also resulted in all 111 schools in Pasir Gudang being closed for the safety of the pupils, teachers and school staff.
