After a heated debate in the Dewan Rakyat over the matter, the Federal Government decided that they will not declare a state of emergency in Pasir Gudang following the hospitalisation of hundreds due to a toxic leak.All the schools in the district have been ordered closed by the Education Ministry.Throughout the day lawmakers on both sides of the political divide including Pontian MP Ahmad Maslan and Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim called on the government to declare the state of emergency.
