A viral video showing hundreds of floating dead fish allegedly due to pollution in Pasir Gudang is fake according to the Fisheries Department.

A spokesperson told Malaysiakini that no incident such as the one portrayed in the video had occurred anywhere in Pasir Gudang.

Suspected chemical waste dumping at Sungai Kim Kim has caused toxic pollution in the area.

Hundreds have had to seek medical treatment, while all schools in the area have been closed.
